It has been so murky-dismal here in New York practically this entire last week and more rain is forecasted for the rest of the week. BUMMER! I have been wanting to get some exciting hair accessories for the spring and summer to pull my hair back during bad rainy days (hello savior from bad hair days!).
Found some majorly cute stuff on etsy. This could be bad for my funds...

Tea and Crumpets for Girly Girls
I admit it. I like pink, frilly girly things. So after reading this, I definitely want to go here, Sweetiepie, and have myself some silver dollar pancakes, with cookies and milk. The whole menu is so child-hood cute I could pinch myself.
It is kinda like Serendipity, but has a more whimsical, childish vibe, which I love.

Holy Sweet Jesus
This past half week has been quite an exciting, but also scary adventure.
First off, this happened today, so I am going to jump forward in time for this post, and share if first!
After a year of working a variety of jobs: retail, freelancing, and hostessing, I have finally landed a full time J-O-B! Quite exciting to share with y'all. I started three months ago at 77Kids, the new kids-brand shoot-off of American Eagle, doing kids graphics. It has really been a great three months, I really like the people, and the actual product it puts out.
Some graphics that are out now, made a year ago by Steve, Joe, Keith, and Micah.
Cute top made by wovens team
The same time, I was also grappling with a stellar job offer, from my old boss, at Gap doing baby CAD design. It was a great job, but in the end I decided to go with the graphics job.
SO, this weekend, when I was thinking over the job prospects, I was invited by my old college friend to go out to her beach house in Long Island, near Oyster Bay. Let me tell you, it was the best thing that could have come along. So relaxing and soaked up a lot of vitamin D.
Purple Love
I think we all go through fashion phases. I was in a big beaded necklace phase in highschool. My then-boyfriend's brother asked me why I always wore huge necklaces. Then I was in a vest phase in college. Now I've moved on to color phases. First it was a lot of red, but most recently it is purple. It's so unexpected sometimes.
My friend at american apparel, courtney, turned me on to shopnastygal.com.
Now would this be appropriate to wear for a September wedding?
I want a raspberry beret and even prince's cloud suit
Gap Kids Graphics
The line of boys shirts that I worked on @ my internship last summer are out! Way cool. I did all the watercolor illos for this line of tshirts. One of the graphics guys did the typography.

It's almost a sin to jump past summer and start thinking of fall, but I think this little charmer makes it forgivable.

A man who wears purple pants is a winner in my book.
My website is being worked on right now. I hope to have it all sorted out tonight after I get home from work...:) In the mean time, check my flickr to see my illustration work.
PLATE SAMPLES IN :) !!!
My plates are being sampled at FISHS EDDY in Union Square tucked away in the north west corner (East 19th and Broadway). Please go in and ask them to see it! They are trying to see how much interest it gets, so please ask for it if you don't see it right away!! Thanks so much. I hope that it will be a big success and that the other 2 pieces I made for them will be produced later on. XOXO.
Happy Easter too!!
I am trying to get back into updating my website. I changed the colors around and hope to put up some new work soon.

It makes me sad that Cleveland has been in the news a lot lately, the focus of stories on foreclosure and job layoffs. 10,000 vacant houses and one of the highest poverty rates in the country, it's sad that the place I grew up is now suffering the most with the turn of events with the economy.

my mom was telling me that houses are doing exactly as the above house shows, "No Copper." A house that was being renovated next to a family friend was burglarized of it's brand new copper pipes. Sad that something seemingly so mundane as pipes are still targeted because of what it is made out of.
This week, Harlem lost a great lady. Our neighbor, we called her Commodore, passed away suddenly from a heart attack. It was quite a shock to find out the sad news.
The first day Amy and I were looking at the apartment, she was on the stoop eating peanuts and offered us a handful, "Have some peanuts girls." She was a lifer on our block, been here for over 40 years. Always kind and generous, whether giving us pecans or zuccini from the community garden, she always looked out for us. And she would be outside shoveling our stairs after a fresh snowfall. I hope she is in a better place. She will definitely be missed.
this bonpoint is doing something right with hits of yellow and red in their collection
i want this bloomers + trainers combo
lost yellow sunglasses
oh sad day. in my post-mimosa daze after brunch with miss lauren this sunday, i lost these sunglasses that i was on my way to return at urban.
and i found these, which i was going to get, but then sadly realized i had lost the bag somewhere, probably in the chaos of DSW.
