oh sad day. in my post-mimosa daze after brunch with miss lauren this sunday, i lost these sunglasses that i was on my way to return at urban.
and i found these, which i was going to get, but then sadly realized i had lost the bag somewhere, probably in the chaos of DSW.
at least somebody lucked out and got a free pair.
Input please :)
I can't make up my mind
which one should I get?

my sister was in the other room repeating, "monkey, monkey, orangutan, orangutan, monkey" while i was on the phone with my other sister having a serious conversation and i busted up laughing.
i hadn't seen this commercial yet.
gosh, hot damn. i missed looking at andrew hem's work and i wish i could go to his show in washington that is going on now. his work seems to have evolved to softer figures, that are a little less angular, but still very powerful.
love mr. sartorialist
i try my own take of this with my yellow AA socks peeking out of my short jeans
adore = total babe + love the plaid construction + the tie's stripes + love that blue of the gloves + the scarf
where can i find this guy??????
Friday marked the last day of my freelancing as a CAD designer/print designer at Gap. I spent two weeks working with a print stylist creating many many prints for girls and boys underwear and pajamas for holiday '09. So get ready for next Christmas! It was truly a blast and I learned a lot. I was able to use what I learned during my U4ia class and apply it to the artwork I created in Illustrator. It was a good balance between being creative/drawing and being technical. I am hoping to keep up designing textiles.
So...the next 2 weeks, I am at 77Kids, new kids line from American Eagle Outfitters. It is quite an adventure so far! I am working as an assistant graphic designer in their graphics department. Check out their stuff!

Love it.

this is for jessica my other art school girl at a.a.:
perfect representation of art school girls, especially for ones in nyc. love the pearl paint part.
I started freelancing at the Gap yesterday. I am doing CAD design for kids/toddler sleepwear and underwear. It really has been a blast so far. Some challenges, but I am getting paid to draw all day, which is wonderful! I can't show what I have been doing, but these links are examples of how my textile drawings would be applied to underwear and pjs.

Fishs Eddy
I have a dishware line coming out this spring for Fishs Eddy that I am super excited about! Good things are coming for 2009! I'm not exactly sure when it will be in stores, but I wanted to share the final artwork I sent to them as well as the pictures of samples that the art director sent me.
The finals I sent in were in greyscale
But the 3 plates + 1 mug are going to be in color for the real deal. SO...here are the samples (only have two plates):
Back up and Running
I got back to nyc Sunday and I brought my computer to TechServe the next day. Must say...best $400 I've spent in a while. I have a functioning computer just in time for the new year. Clap Clap Clap!
I went home to a new house this Christmas but many of the same traditions that make Christmas special for me still took place. Some yearly Christmas doings:
luminaries:
It started in Buffalo, NY when my mom was little and we still do it every year...used to put candles in sand-weighted brown bags, but they, according to ed, "got stuck in the snow blower and bag shreds were around through the first thaw." So now we do them in milk jugs. tada!
It's always Amy and me that freeze our butts off, while Kate watches from inside. This year, gotta give her credit, she helped us light the candles.
From the front.
we leave them lit overnight and hope that a few are still lit by christmas morning.

Since I am the only one who knows how to do automatic timing, I am always running into the picture...

Happy Holidays!
Oh sad day. My computer just went caput while I was in the middle of working on this really fun textile design that I was going to bring into U4ia. UGH. After trudging to the only appointment at the Apple Store at 6am on Friday, I was told by Tim that my hard drive is fried. So, I have no computer right now, until I get back to NY after Christmas. Then I have to get the HD replaced. :(
The blog header I made is up now---runoff.wordpress.com
but not any of the writer's entries....that is still to come.
Kate + Cory
Awhile ago, I went to a photo shoot for an article in BonAppetit featuring my friend, Kate, from the slide collection.
