Last Tuesday, I went to the day-judging of the Westminster Kennel Club at Piers 92 and 94. I made the journey from Williamsburg to midtown west and arrived to the piers around 10 am. The judging had already started at 8:30am, so these dogs, groomers, and handlers had already been up for several hours! The working, sporting, and terrier breeds were being shown that day.
Seeing the bond between the dog's team and the dog itself was really heartwarming.
Big dogs.
My favorite, a wirehaired pointing griffon.
Pretty samoyeds.
A handler was being interviewed about this Leonberger and his teeth.
After 5 hours walking around piers 92 and 94, I was dead tired. Kinda like this english setter.
The Westminster Kennel Club was something I would recommend to everyone. It definitely should be on everyone's bucket list. I hope to use this research in future illustration work.
