Jackson 5 ABC

I contributed an illustration to Ten Paces and Draw Mixed Tape section. Check it out here!

I couldn't make up my mind between these two colorways, this first one is what I submitted to TP&D, but I also liked the intense reds in the one below. What do you like better?

And gotta include a detail shot of this guy, right side up... He seemed super cool in his pink blazer.

Valentine's Day < 3

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

I think Ellsworth by Rascal Flatts does a good job summing up the spirit of Valentine's Day. Plus oh so fitting of these last few months for my family. (And those who don't like country music, just give it one listen, okay?)

Enjoy the day with someone who is special!

There is something just so refreshing about oldies after listening to regular top 40 music. Wouldn't it be lovely if all men sung about women in this way instead of cursing them out or being completely disrespectful? Something to think about...

fall

...one of the reasons is because Fall means
October is here!
(and i get to wear my favorite, bright orange sweater that is in the above picture!)

Finally ! The best month of the year!

To celebrate I...

...treated myself to a pumpkin spice latte & pumpkin bread loaf @ starbucks

...bought oodles of pumpkins at a bodega

...have got my eye on this awesome sweater
from sphinxlover on etsy. ($40)
Too bad its for kids :(

...sang this song
to say goodbye to last month

...dream that I can snatch one of these sharply cute necklaces (and not squirm when I put it on).
via squirrel bunny left right (both $48 ea).

...and sang this song to get in the mood for the potions and spookiness Halloween has in store this year!

What are you doing for fall? I'd love to hear!

'From Jupiter' illustrated CD packaging

A year ago, I submitted a CD design for a band called, From Jupiter. My design won and I then had to design/illustrate the interior part of the album as well as the actual CD. Well, I kinda forgot about it for a few months and then followed up w/ the label's president. And, what do you know, I got this awesome present in the mail.

I tell ya, it feels good to see an actual product that is actually sold, to have your illustration work on it. It even is shrink-wrapped! Thanks Monica @ Third Eye Records and the guys of From Jupiter!

Today was pretty successful...scanned slides at work for 4 hours straight, organized my desk area to start the new semester, unpacked my new wacom tablet, dabbled with that for a little bit, and finished the rooster painting. this painting was inspired by the rediculousness of my out of control bangs by the end of the night. feeling like a cock-a-too, the bangs were the inspiration for the rooster.

I have been in a dance music craze lately. I downloaded two of my fav songs from working at a&F: tracking treasure down by gabriel & dresden and what a feeling by peter luts. and have been dancing in the temporary empty apartment to these songs as well as depeche mode. luckily i dont have neighbors across from where all the dancing takes place. i feel like this year is a new chapter in my life, i have my show to look forward to during the summer, ed is coming home in march/april, the sisters might be coming for st patties day, a lot of things to be grateful for.
