Overheard on the subway after we got on the
Sunday Night Girl Time
A New Length
I decided to try something new after almost 6 years of long hair. I got it chopped.
I feel (a little in mourning) but liberated at the same time.

Halloween 2009
Happy Birthday to Me!
Yesterdayy was my 24th birthday. I was feeling pretty down the day before (which I tend to be around my bday) and told myself, I had one day to be sad. Then after, and on my bday, NADA. I told myself to snap out of it and enjoy it!
Well, I did. A lot.
The graphics team treated me to a choice of 2 drinks: coffee & chai in the morning w/ some ultra awesome TimBits. Soo sweet. It was very nice of them! And I was treated to lunch by the girls in design. So Sweet!
I was chomping at the bit to get out of work to go to Apotheke to meet up w/ 3 of my favorite people in the world: Amy, Katie & Tom (Katie L joined us too!).
The time finally came and I got my birthday hat on!
Soo yadda, yadda, yadda. We had a fabulous dinner on Mulberry street in Little Italy.
We were even serenaded by the Italian guy singing That's Amore as per Ms. Katie's request.
And Amy got me a gorgeous chocolate cake w/ Orange Frosting (so fall! she's knows me too well) from Glaser's (a new neighborhood favorite).
After taking the subway, I get home with Amy. That's when I got the BIG surprise.
I noticed my bedroom door was closed and I usually never take the time to fully close my door when I leave for work. Welll....Tom took a half day and met Amy up at our place to blow up balloons that filled my room. It was quick a shock to walk in and see 24 yellow balloons!
It totally SURPRISED me. I even believed his white lie, "Sorry, Lindsey. I didn't have time to get you a present this week."
I'll say. Quite a present all right. :)
There is something just so refreshing about oldies after listening to regular top 40 music. Wouldn't it be lovely if all men sung about women in this way instead of cursing them out or being completely disrespectful? Something to think about...

This is going to be a long post because I want to share all the pictures that I can!
Last January I worked for about 3-4 weeks in the Gap Kids CAD department doing prints for underwear & sleepwear. It really was one of the best work experiences that I have had in my professional career so far. I was able to draw everyday and make prints that would make their way to stores for HOLIDAY 2009.
So Ta-Da! I checked today and they are starting to roll out in stores. Each picture links to the site.
I'm tickled pink!

fall
...one of the reasons is because Fall means
October is here!
(and i get to wear my favorite, bright orange sweater that is in the above picture!)
Finally ! The best month of the year!
To celebrate I...
...treated myself to a pumpkin spice latte & pumpkin bread loaf @ starbucks
...bought oodles of pumpkins at a bodega
...have got my eye on this awesome sweater
from sphinxlover on etsy. ($40)
Too bad its for kids :(
...sang this song to say goodbye to last month
...dream that I can snatch one of these sharply cute necklaces (and not squirm when I put it on).
via squirrel bunny left right (both $48 ea).
...and sang this song to get in the mood for the potions and spookiness Halloween has in store this year!
What are you doing for fall? I'd love to hear!
Welcome Fall!

Could this be my outfit for my birthday? It's just under a month away...
A moment on the bus
I was taking the M86 across Central Park tonight after dinner w/ an old college friend, and of course, there is always one, some lady was blasting this song on her iPod. The lady in front of her kept turning around and shooting her nasty looks to try to have her turn it down.
I say turn it up higher.
I loved this moment on the bus tonight.
Wow...this girl has GOT TAL-ENT!
I read The Rockstar Diaries daily and one of the entries linked to Jessica Peterson's blog. I have quickly become obsessed with her work.
She is such a fantastic photographer. I really envy, what seems to be effortless talent, to capture people in the moment when their true spark emerges. Go check it out! and her portfolio site
All pictures taken from her site. I hope she doesn't mind I'm sharing it w/ the world. She is so talented.
I wish I lived near Utah so she could take my picture....ah some day.
I am excited about our new fall stuff that is up on the 77Kids site. The next flow, or in other words, season, I sho
I'm going back to my sophomore year band crush.
"I'll love you in the morning, when you're still hungover.
I'll love you in the morning, when you're still strung out."
Last day
Such a Lovely Friday...
...despite the horrendous spotty downpours throughout the day.
Today was my second-to-last early-out Friday and I tried to just live in the moment and get out to enjoy myself. My free Fridays are down to 1 eek!
It definitely felt like autumn was on my heels today. It was a dark soggy morning, the kind when you wake up and think it can't possibly be time to peel yourself out of bed. Anyways, I dragged out my knee-high boots, which, I think, is the first move to autumn clothes! (deep down, I am so pumped to transition to sweaters and tights and scarves and lots of layers)
Well, after I got out of work and got some not-so-fun-things done, I put my boots back on and went out to AA to do some last pre-quit shopping. But before that, I discovered something that I probably walked by a million times.
Lovely...isn't it?
Glaser's Bake Shop has been on 1st and e.87th since 1902! I didn't get a chance to eat anything, but next time, I'll let you know how it was.
-------
The night soon came around and I asked Amy if she wanted to go to Osha, this cute little Thai place that has these enchanting chandeliers that I always stare at as I walk by.
It's on 2nd Ave between 88th & 89th.
Amy getting excited about the menu at Osha
Such a quiet dignity Amy has here.
The one of Amy above reminded me of a combination of two paintings. The picture reminded me of the organization of the composition in City Sunlight by Edward Hopper & Penitent Magdalene by Georges de la Tour, French Baroque painter. Something about Amy's skin tone against the dark seat, sweep of her dark hair, and her light blouse, and the frames above her seemed very reminiscient of the two paintings.
That de la Tour is like an old friend I must always visit at the Met.
....Sorry, I kinda just nerrrd'ed out there.
Enjoy your weekend! Love to hear what you have been up to!
