Future Mantelpiece
Sigh.
Only until I can buy a home or be lucky enough to rent an apartment in NYC that has a mantlepiece as gorgeous as this one, will I be able to recreate my own version of the above.
I fell in love with the oversized gilded frame above the fireplace.
I guess I can dream...

Highlight of my week...

Wedding ideas
I pulled this little mood board together for Kate's & Bret's wedding to get some ideas in the pot for when I do their invitation package.
Maybe they'll like it, maybe they'll hate it.
I just love doing these little projects.
Sorry, I only have a few photo sources for the above. If you know any, please post below :)
here's the few that I know....Rifle Paper Co., Jcrew

Engagement Pictures
Remember my post about going back to Cleveland w/ Tom?
While home, Tom took the engagement pictures of my older sister, Kate, and her fiance, Bret, near Lake Erie, OH.
I was his 'assistant' which basically meant I held a lens occasionally, but more just stayed far enough back so that I wasn't in the frame ;)
I love how they turned out and am so proud of Tom's work.
Might you have friends who need pictures, you should contact my boy, Tom.
On the wing
If you could use a smile, I would read this.
Good people are still out there. :)
Happy Birthday Kate!
LA Bound
It's set. My hotel is booked, my flight is booked and I have the time off from work (hooray!).
I will be going to the Illustration Conference, ICON 6, in LA come mid-July.
I am super excited, but also have some nerves about going.
BUT I am getting over that and trying to just get excited about meeting other illustrators and learning new and important things about the industry.
Anyone else out there in illustration land going to it too? I would love to hear from you! And anyone in LA, are there places I should look into seeing??
I hope this is a step in the right direction for me!
Dreaming of Capri
It looks sublimely gorgeous!

Illustration Crush: Andrew Hem
I don't think I'll ever get over seeing new pieces by Andrew Hem. I have been following him since my days at Parsons studying illustration. He was a few years older than me, studying at Art Center in California. And no, I don't know him personally, he just seems like a super talented illustrator.
Anyways, he had a show in January. (I wish I could have gone!) I am loving his work and the direction his it has been going.
Ear Post
I love these gilded room studs by MiniCyn on etsy. $45.
Perfect for a simple statement of personal style.
CMYK Magazine Competition
My old classmate from Parsons, WoonHyae Bae, (she's a hoot, let me just say that first), anyways, she told me about the CMYK Top 100 New Creatives Competition (thanks WoonHyae!).
I submitted the below pieces. I'm crossing my fingers!
