Happy Birthday to me!
Upstate 2010
Amy and I went back upstate, this time, we had Tom join us as well.
We made the 2 hour drive up to Saugerties, NY. It's beyond gorgeous up there. I would highly recommend making the trip up there if you can.
See our 2009 pics here.
The end.

Party Pt. II
As promised, here are the pictures from my mom's 60th birthday party.
I had a really good time doing these little '60' flags and this date matching game that all tied in with the invite I designed. I even used the left over invites to be thank you tags for our party gifts. (PS these flags are so simple to make....I printed out the flags on sticker paper. Tom helped me cut them out, peel off backing, and stick them on toothpicks. So simple!)
Playing pool!
And happy birthday celebrations were in order for my cousin who turned 15 a few days before my mom.
All pictures taken by Tom Takigayama. He's starting to do custom pictures of families and children. Contact him if you are interested!
Wish List for 25
I will be turning the big 2-5 in 2 weeks, so I am a bit excited!
I feel like the world is at my fingertips and I'm ready to take it all on.
I've been narrowing my WISH LIST down to pieces that will carry me through the next few years, good wardrobe staples, some things for career development, some for style and some for pure childish fun!

Back from Cleveland
This weekend, my family celebrated my mom's big 6-0.
I had a few minutes to post some quick pics from the party before I hit the hay.
I'm pretty wiped out, but it was a speed weekend of fun.
[See invite here that I designed for the party.]
Lots of food, love, family, and fun.
These great pics are taken by Tom. You should check out his site!
I'll post more soon about the party + more pictures. :)
40 Years Illustration Op-Ed NYTimes
Wow...great great great video article about 40 years of illustration at New York Time's Op-Ed page.
It's 10 minutes, but definitely worth sitting and viewing about how this little page progressed to be so big over the last 40 yrs.

Welcome Fall!
Hooray, Fall is here tonight at 11:09pm. I sure hope tomorrow feels more like Autumn, because the weather has been getting warmer this past week. The week prior had been such a tease with cool breezes and crisp mornings.
I was doodling this the other night. Now wouldn't it be nice if there were hats like acorns? That would be pretty stellar.
Speaking of awesome hats, Tom has a nickname for me when I wear this winter hat of mine. He calls me, Slutvana (Sloot-vaana), since I look like a blonde Russian when I wear this hat. And now that I look at it, it kinda looks like an acorn too!
[Katie & me this past winter in Central Park.]
Only a few more months, then I can become Slutvana again on cold walks in Central Park.
Baltimore Trip
This past weekend, I went to Baltimore to visit my best friend from college, Katie.
Katie moved back home this past May, so I have just begun to adjust to my friend being so far away. Sooo, on a happy note, we had a blast and hung out at Fells Point (where I got my latest addition to my fall wardrobe, my red hat at Hats in the Belfry!).
Anyways, I had a blast w/ Katie and all her old highschool friends, whom are always so kind. I'm looking forward to her trip to NYC in October for my bday. :)
FALL!
If you haven't noticed, I love fall. No, more like, I LOVE fall!
And when I saw this in my inbox, I got goosebumps for this great season!
Check out the new works by Rifle Paper Co.
Maybe I will buy this one...
Or this one...
Or this one (my 25th birthday is exactly 1 month away!)...
I can revert back to my 8 year old self and send out invites :)
Happy fall to all!

Asking for some feedback...
Psst! I need some feedback...what do you think of the above?
Would you be interested in buying one?
I am about to start selling products online, but would like to get an idea of what people might be interested in actually buying.
Would you have any interest in buying any of these?
I think I will extend my work to also be on placemats, fabric napkins, as well as the above, pillows, oven gloves, and pot holders.
Any feedback would be so, so helpful! Please just leave in my comments or comment on my facebook posting of this!
Thanks so much in advance! xo
Farm to Table
I was asked last week by Leigh of Leigh Rubin Design, to help illustrate a map. The map will be used on a restaurant's website. Theme of the restaurant is "farm to table," so I was asked to incorporate different animals raised and crops produced at each respective farm.
I'll try to link the the restaurant's site once it goes live.
Thanks Leigh for this project!
Celebrate
My mom is turning the big 6-0 this year, so of course a big party is in store to celebrate!
I created the invite for my mom's bday party that my sisters, my step-dad, and I are throwing for her.
I wanted my mom to be surprised when she finally got it in the mail, so I waited a few weeks before posting it until now. My mom has been a faithful blog follower of mine (thanks mom!), so I knew if I posted it before the invites went out, then well, it wouldn't be as much of a surprise.
;)
Flash forward a few weeks. My sister texts me while she is back home for the week "The invitation came today, mom laughed so hard, aww!"
Success!

Old Friends
You ever have those moments or nights where something revives your spirit? Brings you back to where you started?
My best friend from Cleveland, Adge, was in New York the other night, driving through on a road trip from Maine to Cleveland, and we were able to get dinner together.
It definitely revived my spirits.
Time for Acorns
Playing Catch up
Well hello there.
Sorry I haven't stopped by for a while.
I've been busy getting my postcards out to all those awesome art directors out there. :)
If you would like me to send you postcard, drop me an email or a comment.
And if you are an art director stopping by after getting my postcard, thanks for taking a minute to look around.
In other news...have you tried the Shake Shack on 86th street? Mmmm. Amy, Katie, + I chugged over to the SS in the muggy rainy Sunday. My peanut butter shake was well worth it.
