One of the first T's I did at 77Kids is now up on the site.
A New Length
I decided to try something new after almost 6 years of long hair. I got it chopped.
I feel (a little in mourning) but liberated at the same time.

Halloween 2009
Happy Birthday to Me!
Yesterdayy was my 24th birthday. I was feeling pretty down the day before (which I tend to be around my bday) and told myself, I had one day to be sad. Then after, and on my bday, NADA. I told myself to snap out of it and enjoy it!
Well, I did. A lot.
The graphics team treated me to a choice of 2 drinks: coffee & chai in the morning w/ some ultra awesome TimBits. Soo sweet. It was very nice of them! And I was treated to lunch by the girls in design. So Sweet!
I was chomping at the bit to get out of work to go to Apotheke to meet up w/ 3 of my favorite people in the world: Amy, Katie & Tom (Katie L joined us too!).
The time finally came and I got my birthday hat on!
Soo yadda, yadda, yadda. We had a fabulous dinner on Mulberry street in Little Italy.
We were even serenaded by the Italian guy singing That's Amore as per Ms. Katie's request.
And Amy got me a gorgeous chocolate cake w/ Orange Frosting (so fall! she's knows me too well) from Glaser's (a new neighborhood favorite).
After taking the subway, I get home with Amy. That's when I got the BIG surprise.
I noticed my bedroom door was closed and I usually never take the time to fully close my door when I leave for work. Welll....Tom took a half day and met Amy up at our place to blow up balloons that filled my room. It was quick a shock to walk in and see 24 yellow balloons!
It totally SURPRISED me. I even believed his white lie, "Sorry, Lindsey. I didn't have time to get you a present this week."
I'll say. Quite a present all right. :)
Upstate Fall Trip
Yes, I have been slacking with the posts this last week. It's been a little crazy since my parents left last Monday.
Amy and I packed our bags to take a mini 2-day vacation to Upstate New York. It was really great to get away from the city, see the beautiful foliage and take in the season.
Highlights below
Went to Greig Farms in Red Hook, NY (about a 2 hr drive from Manhattan).
Plus, Amy took me to Woodbury Commons on the way home. Let's just say, some major damage was done w/ my wallet. I didn't realize such good stores were there! Got some cute fall finds.
Phoenicia, NY in the Catskills
At Peekamoose Restaurant in Big Indian, NY. We are HUGE fans now. You gotta, I mean you gotta go here if you go upstate!
Tomorrow is my Birthday. The big 24. I am working on my list of 24...to come in the next few hours. xo
Parents Visit
My parents came in to New York two Tuesdays ago and were here for a week.
Amy + I took my mom out to Rosa Mexicano for her birthday which was Oct.4. Happy Birthday Mom!
She seemed to enjoy her cake platter, cake knife & dish towels from Fishs Eddy (Ed especially liked that they were the absorbent kind).
I was able to take a day off and go to the Intrepid Museum with the fam.
The Growler submarine
Waiting in line.
Say hello to the Growler.
The command center in the Growler. Check out the great vintage colors!
On the flight deck of the Intrepid. Sooo windy!!
I was inspired by this sign which has probably seen years and years of wind.
See more pictures of our Intrepid trip here.
Sitting in my favorite part of the M86 bus, the center part that twirls a little bit. Strange, but my feet don't touch the ground while sitting in these seats which makes me feel like a kid again.
Mom + Daughter pictures at Union Square :)
psst. Should I get my hair cut this short (or at least how short it looks in this picture)?
I am thinking about getting a substantial amount cut off when I go in for a haircut this Friday...
See you at Christmas Mom + Ed. xo
There is something just so refreshing about oldies after listening to regular top 40 music. Wouldn't it be lovely if all men sung about women in this way instead of cursing them out or being completely disrespectful? Something to think about...
Um, Um, Um, Um, Um, Um by Major Lance

Happy Birthday Mom!
This is going to be a long post because I want to share all the pictures that I can!
Last January I worked for about 3-4 weeks in the Gap Kids CAD department doing prints for underwear & sleepwear. It really was one of the best work experiences that I have had in my professional career so far. I was able to draw everyday and make prints that would make their way to stores for HOLIDAY 2009.
So Ta-Da! I checked today and they are starting to roll out in stores. Each picture links to the site.
I'm tickled pink!

Gap Prints
This is going to be a long post because I want to share all the pictures that I can! This past January, I worked for about 3-4 weeks in the GapKids CAD department doing prints for underwear & sleepwear.
It really was one of the best work experiences that I have had in my professional career so far. I was able to draw everyday and make prints that would make their way to stores for HOLIDAY 2009.
So Ta-Da! I checked today and they are starting to roll out in stores.
I'm tickled pink!
Toddler Boy/Baby Boy
penguin hockey--I did this print as a freelancer from home after I left Gap and started at 77Kids. I made a whole group of little icons of animals doing quirky winter sports. It was fun to make animals do these winter sport poses.
wintry animal group--This is also more of the prints that I did after I left Gap. It's too bad that they covered up my favorite print w/ the polarbear snowboarding. I think I might go buy these just to have a sample of my work.
penguin undie--This is the same winter sport idea as above pj set.
train undie--This one was a B* to make because it has so much detail. Took me a few days to get it done with all the windows and wheels. But I like the end result. Worth the work!
dino pj--I didn't create this print, I believe they bought it from a print house, but I helped clean up the print and prep it to be put into U4ia (software that puts prints into technical repeats). I loved the shapes and whimsy of these dinos!
dino slipper-- I just love the pjs, you gotta get the matching slippers!
Big Boys husky boxer--Did some more 'serious'/'less cute ' prints for big boys. This print was fun because I had to make the dogs look as realistic as possible using flat shapes and keeping it down to as little colors as possible. Also difficult at the same time not to make them look flat.
motorcycle boxer--I believe I made the motorcycle and then they just made it into a repeat w/ just the one icon.
big boy penguin pj-- They used the same penguin from the wintry animal group that's from above; a penguin that was more 'serious' for the big boys pjs. Still cute I think!
Toddler Girl/Baby Girl
cupcake undie--This cupcake print was a lot of fun to make.
snowman undie---This print was bought by Gap from a design house, I just had to retrace the objects, flip them in a repeat and recolor. I like this one for girls because it's girly and NOT pink!
Big Girl
hot cocoa pj pant--I believe I did the shapes & Angela, the print stylist, did the type on the cups.
candy undie-- Kinda weird to me that they would put candy on girl's undie, I thought it would go on pajama bottoms...
cupcake & donut undie-- I did the top and the bottom prints.
hot cocoa undie--I did this art the first day I was there and still one of my favorites of my time there!
donut boxers--I kinda forgot about this. I made the donuts on one of my last days there and then they made the repeat from those elements. Turned out cute!
Thanks to Scott & Angela and all the other talented people on the GapKids CAD department. The product looks really great!
fall
...one of the reasons is because Fall means
October is here!
(and i get to wear my favorite, bright orange sweater that is in the above picture!)
Finally ! The best month of the year!
To celebrate I...
...treated myself to a pumpkin spice latte & pumpkin bread loaf @ starbucks
...bought oodles of pumpkins at a bodega
...have got my eye on this awesome sweater
from sphinxlover on etsy. ($40)
Too bad its for kids :(
...sang this song to say goodbye to last month
...dream that I can snatch one of these sharply cute necklaces (and not squirm when I put it on).
via squirrel bunny left right (both $48 ea).
...and sang this song to get in the mood for the potions and spookiness Halloween has in store this year!
What are you doing for fall? I'd love to hear!
Welcome Fall!

After seeing these beauties on wherethelovelythingsare...
...by etsy seller, maranon,
I wanted to give etsy another shot. It just seems (at least to me) to take a little bit more effort to sift through the multitude of products that I am just not that in to, aesthetically speaking.
Anyways....I gave it another go and fell in love with a few sellers....

A moment on the bus
I was taking the M86 across Central Park tonight after dinner w/ an old college friend, and of course, there is always one, some lady was blasting this song on her iPod. The lady in front of her kept turning around and shooting her nasty looks to try to have her turn it down.
I say turn it up higher.
I loved this moment on the bus tonight.
Wow...this girl has GOT TAL-ENT!
I read The Rockstar Diaries daily and one of the entries linked to Jessica Peterson's blog. I have quickly become obsessed with her work.
She is such a fantastic photographer. I really envy, what seems to be effortless talent, to capture people in the moment when their true spark emerges. Go check it out! and her portfolio site
All pictures taken from her site. I hope she doesn't mind I'm sharing it w/ the world. She is so talented.
I wish I lived near Utah so she could take my picture....ah some day.
