Some work from Work--Holiday 09

A lot of the work I produced when I first started at 77Kids is now in stores (well, online, my mistake). They seem sooo long ago and old!

riding under the stars tee here

dashing through the snow tee here

peace tee here

and these are some of my favorites done by other talented co-workers:

good for you tee by joe here

superstar hoodie by keith here

danger mountain tee by steve here

snow shoe crew by keith here which is merchandised horribly on the website by not showing the back which is the best part of the graphic.

77 hoodie by steve here (I really wish I could buy this for myself, but would probably be a belly hoodie on me)

I was going through old pictures from my cousin's wedding and fell in love with these pictures again. Something about Catholic churches, although very old-fashioned, is very comforting to me.

Plus this church, SS Peter & Paul, in Hamburg, NY is a church I grew up with. This is the church my grandparent's belonged to, that my grandpa was an usher at, and where I could always zone out and read the stories in the beautiful stained glass windows instead.

I see a trend starting...

This weekend, I was so fascinated by the signage that goes vertically against buildings, that I kept finding myself NEEDING to take their picture.

So here they are.

Bouquets for me!

I'm a big nerd. I am admitting that right now.
I have always wanted to receive one of these: an Edible Arrangement.
Love the Idea, love how it looks and love that it's easily eaten without any peeling or cutting. Instant access to fruit.

Simply Daisies $52-62 here

So when I saw this write-up on NYTimes about owner of Edible Arrangements, Tariq Farid, I had to read it. The idea goes back to how his Dad would bring home fruit when he was little when they lived in Pakistan. It's quite an impressive story and also heartwarming what he did for his mom.

Berry Bouquet $44 here

Fruit Truffles bouquet $59-85 here

Berry Chocolate Bouquet $69-209 here

Go ahead and read it and maybe order an arrangement (for me. hehe)....

Nintendo Magic

I hinted at Halloween 2009 here.

Overheard on the subway after we got on at 96th.

"Yo man, Yoshi doesn't end up with Princess Peach"
"But Yoshi has that magic tongue"
True story. People say anything on Halloween.

Hopefully more pictures to come with our full costumes.

Meet me at Grand Central

I see this every time I turn onto Park after work around 6pm. The view has only gotten better since it has become fall.

And that is just from the setting sun on the west side of Manhattan hitting it oh so perfectly.

The List

I know I promised this a day or two ago...but the bday girl had to party a little, okay?
I've come up with my 24 for 24 that I need to strive after/achieve/just do:

24 for my 24th year.
1. Listen better (Tom knows this and I am working on this...)
2. Save money for my Greece trip when I'm 25
3. Take more pictures
4. Make 1 alphabet/month
5. Write one letter/weekend
6. Seriously look into salsa classes
7. Try doodle embroidery
8. Go to the aquarium w/ tom
9. Go upstate with Amy and Katie (Did this 2 weekends ago) done Oct 09
10. Carve a pumpkin
11. Make brown sugar pecans
12. Make my own christmas presents
13. Take this specific photo at the Highline that I have in mind
14. Show my portfolio book to textile design firm
15. Get my website to work
16. Invest in better shoes
17. Take more fashion risks
18. Spend 1...gasp....1 week without looking at people.com
19. Put up wall frame collage done 12.11.09
20. Do this multi-panel animal art idea (it makes sense in my head, maybe not in writing)
21. Make red velvet cake done 12.12.09
22. Go to picture collection 2-3x's a month
23. Compose a favorite oldies song list
24. This one is my secret...
